A new blood pressure program will be starting in June at the Michigan City Senior Center. This program is for anyone who has been diagnosed with high blood pressure but has not experienced a recent cardiac event or have atrial fibrillation or other arrhythmias, and a YMCA membership is NOT required. The program is run by our certified Healthy Heart Ambassadors on the proper technique for taking one’s own blood pressure accurately. In addition, these Ambassadors assist participants in identifying trends and patterns in their readings over time and provide ongoing support to make self-monitoring a habit.

The program is $15/month and runs for 4 months.

Participants receive: A home blood pressure monitor and cuff to use and keep forever, two in-person sessions/month with a Healthy Heart Ambassador, and four monthly nutrition seminars.

Informational meeting will be on May 28th from 12:00pm-2pm.
