Every second counts during a cardiac emergency. Join the LaPorte County Health Department and learn the lifesaving skills that can make a difference when someone experiences sudden cardiac arrest.
During this interactive session, participants will learn:
• Hands-Only CPR – Simple, effective chest compressions that anyone can perform to help keep blood flowing until emergency responders arrive.
• How to Use an AED (Automated External Defibrillator) – Learn how these easy-to-use devices work and how they can dramatically improve survival rates when used quickly alongside CPR.
• LaPorte County’s HEARTSafe Initiative – Discover how our community is working to increase cardiac arrest survival through CPR education, AED accessibility, and community preparedness.
• PulsePoint: A Lifesaving App for Your Phone – Learn how to download and use the free PulsePoint Respond and PulsePoint AED apps, which can notify nearby CPR-trained citizens of cardiac emergencies and help locate the closest AED when every second matters.
